  • Under normal circumstances, a crash report is available 24 hours after conclusion of the Investigation or on the next business day. There is a $3 fee for this service. Please call 540-587-6011 to confirm the report is available.

  • No, you should call the non emergency number at 540-586-7827 where you will be connected with a Dispatcher who will dispatch an officer to your location. Examples on non emergency calls would include but are not limited to items like a break-in not in progress, property damage, traffic concerns, and removal of dead animals from the roadway.

  • As a result of reversion, Town residents now pay $0.32 per $100 value Real Estate taxes. In addition, Town residents pay $0.52 per $100 value Real Estate tax to the County of Bedford. Each locality bills separately for their respective rate thus residents get TWO bills – they are not getting double charged. When the Town was a City residents paid $0.86 per $100 value Real Estate taxes. Residents have received a net reduction in their tax rate of $0.02 per $100 value on their taxes for additional service delivery as residents now have access to Town and County services. The Town Real Estate tax bill must be paid at the Town of Bedford Municipal Building and the County of Bedford Real Estate tax bill must be paid at the County Administration Building.

  • A customer is given 15 days from the original bill due date to pay their bill. If the due date of cut-off falls on a weekend or holiday then it rolls to the next business day.   • Reasons for discontinuance of service are: (a) Nonpayment of bill or other charges; (b) Partial payment of bill or other charges; (c) Failure to comply with utility rules, regulations or policies; (d) Tampering with utility equipment or stealing service.

  • Personal vehicles that are valued at $20,000 or less receive 100% Personal Property Tax Relief (PPTR) and will not receive a tax bill from the Town. Personal vehicles that are valued at $20,001 or more will receive 100% PPTR on the first $20,000 of their tax bill and will only be billed for the remaining portion over $20,000 at $1.06 per $100 of assessed value. The Town Personal Property tax bill must be paid at the Town of Bedford Municipal Building and the County of Bedford Personal Property tax bill must be paid at the County Administration Building.

  • You may pay your utility bill at the Town Administration building, located at 215 East Main Street, Bedford. The Collections Office is located right across from the front doors. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • Utilities can be turned on or off at the Town Administration building, 215 E. Main St. The Utility Billing office is located to the right of the Collection's Office, right across from the front doors. 


    Hours of operation are: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
