Responsibilities

The Engineering Division's responsibilities include designing, implementing and inspecting public works projects such as:
  • Roads
  • Sidewalks
  • Storm Drainage Systems

Projects

This division also surveys public works project sites and prepares easements for public works projects, in addition; they also review site plans.

  • Jackson Street Grant Project (storm drainage replacement/sidewalk replacement/landscaping)
  • Old Turnpike Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Revenue Sharing Project (relocation of Old Turnpike)
  • Washington Street / Crenshaw Street Enhancement Project (storm drainage replacement/sidewalk replacement/landscaping)
